About us

Hi, Welcome to Relax Lab!

We’re so glad you’re here. Interested in the Relax Lab lore? We’d love to share!

Relax Lab opened our doors in October 2019 in Tyler’s Mosaic District, a growing, community-driven, small business destination. What began as a shared vision of health and nervous system regulation between founders Laura Hoyt, Yenissel De Nova and Lloyd Luthas quickly grew into a collaborative wellness spa.

All three founders are massage therapists by trade, and hands-on care has always been at the heart of what we do. While our initial business model centered heavily on float therapy and a small, therapist-led team, the realities of 2020 required us—like many—to pivot. Just five months after opening, we temporarily closed due to COVID-19, using that time to reassess and refine our vision.

Out of that season came meaningful change. We reimagined our space, converting underutilized areas into additional treatment rooms and expanding our team of therapists. By late 2020, we had grown beyond a three-person practice into a collaborative wellness space offering a wider range of services. Sensory deprivation therapy, massage and craniosacral therapy, alongside our lounge services, Nucalm and Normatec, all became a part of Relax Lab and the vision of the “Lab of you” or the larger question we have for you, “How do you relax?”.

In the years that followed, Relax Lab continued to evolve. In 2022, we expanded with the creation of Relax Lab Family, a nearby space dedicated to pediatric bodywork. This allowed us to deepen our specialty care—particularly in pre- and post-operative tongue and lip-tie bodywork support for infants—while also creating room for continued growth within our main location.

Today, Relax Lab is home to a team of skilled therapists and a wide range of therapeutic offerings. While much has changed since 2019, our foundation remains the same: thoughtful care, a supportive environment, and a commitment to helping our community feel better in their bodies.

Yenissel De Nova was involved in key milestones from build-out to early operations, and her early influence remains part of the business today. Her time with Relax Lab concluded in Spring 2026.
